Upper School

This is when your child becomes a young adult and it can be tempting to think theat you should step back, that your work as a parent is drawing to a close. In fact, your support will be essential, because these adolescent years can leave young people feeling confused and uncertain of who they are.

Praise and encouragement are just as important as in the earlier years, but so is continuing to set clear boundaries. Your child will be making important decisions about the future during this period, and will need your interest and ability to listen to guide them. See the themes on the left for specific advice about how you could support your child's development.
